  Skeptical at first

  Once trying the app for a few days for free, I’m hooked. There’s one thing I either haven’t found or isn’t in the app would be footnotes or companion notes on articles with mixed or low factual ratings what points/sections were found to be non factual. That would make it a 10 star app and I’d pay double!

  I love this app. It provides multiple opportunities to substantiate news from all sides of the spectrum and even provides bias ratings if you wish. Much better than a news feed that only shows you one side of the political spectrum or only stories that reflect your own bias. Essential to being an informed citizen of the world.

  Hard to cancel

  Disappointed in the cancellation process. Had to click on multiple buttons to cancel on multiple screens. It shouldn’t be this hard. I tried to cancel the other day and thought I had, however I only clicked three cancel buttons and missed the fourth, therefore I missed the cutoff window and got charged for a full year. Very discrete business practice.

  Inadequate accessibility support

  When I asked for larger font settings, I was told to use Apple’s accessibility options. I’ve been trying, but it’s annoyingly awkward to use. I have to keep scrolling baxk and forth within each line of text, then turn zoom off to navigate.

  Actively breaking down the bi-partisan battle

  Ground News allows users to see views outside of themselves, analyze their own media, and understand where opposing opinions are built. The verbal warfare of the left and right ultimately weighs our country down, distracts from the goals at hand, and eliminates the opportunity for actual learning.   Great resource but

  Needs a toggle in settings to always open source articles in the default browser instead of inside the app. I have my browser configured the way I want for accessibility and general usability but opening the articles in the app bypasses all of that. (UPDATE: I have been informed by the developer that there is a way to open an article in the browser but it is buried and requires loading the article in the app, opening reader mode, then tapping the tiny browser icon in the bottom right. Not a friendly design. Hopefully they change this soon.)
