Description
Play the digital adaptation of the beloved tabletop board game. Root is a game of adventure and war where 2 to 4 players battle for control of a vast wilderness. The nefarious Marquise de Cat has seized the great woodland, intent on harvesting its riches. Under her rule, the many creatures of the forest have banded together. This Alliance will seek to strengthen its resources and subvert the rule of Cats. In this effort, the Alliance may enlist the help of the wandering Vagabonds who are able to move through the more dangerous woodland paths. Though some may sympathize with the Alliance’s hopes and dreams, these wanderers are old enough to remember the great birds of prey who once controlled the woods. Meanwhile, at the edge of the region, the proud, squabbling Eyrie have found a new commander who they hope will lead their faction to resume their ancient birthright. The stage is set for a contest that will decide the fate of the great woodland. It is up to the players to decide which group will ultimately take root.

Genius game and fun for role play
I believe the Eyrie are the most interesting tabletop faction ever designed

Good game with terrible touch controls for a tiny screen
As someone who plays this game in person a decent amount, and has quite a few hours into the digital version, the strategy game itself is very good, with decent balance among factions that play very differently. My beef is that this is clearly not optimized for a small touchscreen, and if there wasn’t an undo option, I would have installed it ages ago. If you are playing it with a mouse and keyboard, it’s very precise, but the touchscreen controls work poorly, and I and others I play with have frequent misclicks in game. While this isn’t always a big deal, there are certain actions which can’t be taken back (for good reason) so the frequency at which this occurs can change the game if done at an inopportune time. Please devs, fix the controls so that they actually feel like they belong on something people control with their fingers!!!

Absolutely Amazing
A necessary experience for any human’s life to meaningful. The game of a lifetime. The best board games oat, and I don’t think it’s close. The amount of nuance, strategy, and unique playstyles is unparalleled by any war game, or board game for that matter. It takes a while to get, but once you get it, you won’t be able to stop playing.

ROOT!!!
Very smooth, no bugs (as far as I can tell), and accommodating. Worth every penny! I live far away from my friends and don’t get the chance to play the physical game often. So, this scratches the itch for sure!

Great way to learn for beginners and great way to understand true rules for veterans
I’ve been playing root, the actual table top game for over a year now. It’s been a great time so if you’re wondering if this game is worthwhile it absolutely is. A great deal of skill expression with so many factions you’re bound to love one of them and they’re all so different. This online client is an excellent way to learn and practice each faction. They’re cheaper here than when you buy them physically, so great there. Plus the rules are enforced so you get to see how a real game should run. The o my downside is that it’s not up to date with whatever is the newest expansion. Fingers crossed it will be soon. So we’re missing a few factions. To the fellow root enjoyers, this client is excellent for many reasons. Chief among them is the fact you get to see how the rules should play out. Play on here enough and you can see what moves you can take back vs can’t, what specific situations look like and an overall understanding of the rules. Unfortunately the new expansion isn’t here. But other than the changes they made. This client is law in our group. It’s great to see how things should be set up and interacted with in real time. Definitely recommend getting this and all the expansions.

Pretty great
Overall on a phone it does justice, there are the common pop ups for leave a review and other games to check out but you can quickly get rid of them, amazing game and tutorial is super helpful, overall I’d say it’s worth the price, and optional expansions but not needed

Top-Notch Woodland Mayhem
Excellent implementation of one of my favorite board games.

Overly complicated
People seem to like this game but it feels way overly complicated and NOT for beginners at all. I fell asleep trying to learn the second tutorial. Sadly this is the only mobile game I've ever purchased and I regret it.

Good port, issues on computer
Pretty good port! The only issue I have is that on laptop it does not support touchpad - which means that you’re stuck with first “helper” popup forever
