We started Empower to help drivers who can’t make a sustainable living under the current rideshare model and to facilitate an alternative for passengers who want the convenience provided by on-demand transportation platforms, but prefer to support companies that have high ethical standards and treat all people with respect. Through our P2P SaaS, Empower is achieving these goals and enabling passengers to obtain less expensive and more customized transportation directly from drivers.

  No recourse for spoofed rides

  Empower has seen an extreme uptick in spoofed drivers either accepting rides and not moving or indicating a pickup where none occurred. There is no option to dispute claimed services and charges within the Empower UI, nor any visible attempt to cut down on fake drivers. There needs to be a significant change before lack of protections against abuse of the platform ruin a good idea. I used to have a universally positive experience with the app only for 4 out of my past 5 rides be time and money wasting scams

  Is Empower enabling Fraud?

  I had to cancel a ride from West New York to JFK. The driver actually closed the ride as ‘Completed’ the ride till JFK. The bill, over $114. Over last three weeks I have written four emails to support, not a single response. If the provider cannot take care of Fraud or fraudulent issues, I consider that as enabling the fraud and being complacent of it. From technical perspective, the app should not have allowed to driver to close the ride, as if he was in JFK. So, great idea, but terrible execution.

  It’s a four instead of a five because because they overcharges your card for some odd reason instead of charging the price that it shows before you buy the ride and when the rides on the way to you, I need the car to be less laggy so let’s get that fixed please and thank you

  Drivers Suck & App has no customer support what’s so ever!

  Most of the drivers on this app are absolutely terrible and honestly should get their TLC license revoke ASAP! Also I feel the reason for that is because there is no way to put in a complaint or contact customer service whatsoever so drivers just do whatever they feel. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!

  Very happy with app but…

  Amazing app, great prices & best of all happy drivers. The system used for the maps and location services could be better. They need to be more on real time and specific locations. Also the time waited is sometimes inaccurate.
