Literally the first thing they ask for is your money and you can’t use it without it starting a free trial they hope you’ll forget about

    Wrong more often than right

When I downloaded this app many months ago, it said it was free. But then I was signed up for a free trial. It was my own fault and I take full responsibility that I did not cancel it in time. But I figured, ok, I downloaded it for a reason and I’ll use it for the year. I haven’t needed it but a handful of times. It only got the bug correct once. I’m so dissatisfied that I wasted my money. Tonight my husband pulled the bug down that the ‘identified’ and it want even close to being the same bug.

    Best Identification on the Market

Hands down the best identifier app I’ve ever used. It’s highly accurate, but if it is wrong, it offers similar species that could be correct. I use their Plant app, as well as this one. I rely heavily on them both to learn how to identify the little ecosystem in my garden.

    Wrong ID won’t allow correction

Overall a reasonable app, but it’s impossible to correct an incorrect ID. The app identified colaspis viridiceps as colaspis brunnea. When I try to correct the ID, it’s clear that colaspis viridiceps isn’t even in the app, despite it being a common beetle in the southwest U.S. where I am. Cannot trust species ID. Genus was correct, but this app isn’t fine tuned enough yet for species level certainty.
