Watch to 5K helps you build up to running 5K in just 9 weeks. It’s designed for absolute beginners and runs entirely on your Apple Watch, so you can leave your phone at home. The plan includes three runs per week with a rest day between, and a new schedule each week. By the end of the program, you’ll be able to run continuously for 30 minutes. BUILT FOR THE APPLE WATCH • Runs independently without the need for your iPhone. • Watch face complications are included allowing you to monitor your progress and quickly launch the app. PHONE COMPANION APP • An iPhone companion app is included to allow you to track your progress. • View a breakdown of your previous runs, including health data and run route. • Achievements are awarded as you progress through the plan to celebrate milestones such as running continuously for 5 minutes or running for a certain distance. APPLE HEALTH INTEGRATION • Sessions are stored in Apple Health and count towards your activity goals. • Watch to 5K tracks your route, distance, calories, average speed and heart rate so you can easily track your progress. • Supports outdoors or indoor runs. LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC WHILE YOU RUN • Works alongside your preferred music player or podcast watch app, automatically ‘dipping’ the volumes so you can hear the instructions and updates on your progress. • Signals the halfway point, so you know when to head home! • Easy to follow countdown timer that uses sounds and haptics, so you know how long you’ve got left of each run. GO AT YOUR OWN PACE • Ability to repeat runs, allowing you to go at a pace that suits you. • Start the plan from any week.     The motivation you need!

    Just enough to get you started running without all the off-putting complexity found in hard core runner apps - and no stupid subscription! The app gently increases the amount of running you will do each week so you're not overwhelmed and you can always repeat runs (or entire weeks) if you don't quite feel ready for the next step. Goals are celebrated regularly for encouragement. Even my spouse, who swore they'd never be a runner, has started using it and they're making great progress. Bottom line, the app is simple but it really works!

    Works well but wish it included warm up/cool down in map

    Overall, I really like this app. The program is easy to follow and works well with my Apple Watch. My one complaint is I wish it included the warm-up and cool down in the map and total distance at the end. It feels weird sharing the map with stats when it doesn’t include the extra 10 minutes of exercise.

    An app that lets me disconnect

    This app has been a great tool to help me get into running, and I’m especially happy with the ability to track my run while leaving my phone behind. The lack of subscription is a huge plus too; I’m happy to have paid the one-time fee, and I’m happy enough with the app that I hope to be adding on the 10K program before too long.

    Not worth the money

    This app doesn't take advantage of the detailed tracking apple watch provides. Although it saves your workouts in the fitness app, it only has really basic stats. No cadence, no heartrate zones. The UI is slightly clunky too.
