    Lousy

Just started posting new stories that if you click on them, you have to pay extra to read it. If this keeps up, you can count me out just like I left CNN.

    Needs improvement

I paid for the subscription in order to access ad-free podcasts formerly available through BBC Sounds. The good news is that the subscription now removes ads from the podcasts. The bad news is that there are giant ads on podcast landing pages. Also, early access is not available for most of the podcasts offered in the BBC Premium channel in Apple Podcasts (for example, In Our Time, Friday Night Comedy, and Inside Science are all delayed by a week or longer in the app/website). Listeners are clearly an afterthought in the app and website navigation. Probably won't resubscribe as is. Edit to add: My workaround of accessing podcasts through the BBC website on my phone (Safari with Firefox Focus extension) no longer works to avoid the ads. The ads don't show, but neither does a play button. Not sure why there's such contempt for paying customers.

    Why paid wall for America?

BBC has been the most reliable and trusted international news sources. Most people won’t pay for the subscriptions, meaning most just won’t read BBC anymore. There are a lot Brits living in the U.S. too. Why? This is saddening.

    Need subscription for everything

Don’t waste your time downloading the app at this point, you need to have an active subscription to read any news article no matter what. More worried about money than the news

  • ★★★★Brit living in USA

    Funny

Funny how the developers respond to five star reviews but not to the one star reviews, is it because they can’t answer why we in the US have to pay a subscription?

  • ★★★★Huntermacker

    Paid News

So sad for one of the world’s greatest news sources to make you pay to read any article. I thought news suppression was supposed to be a horrible thing

  • ★★★★guanna 8

    Problems with the app

My phone keeps overheating with this app. It keeps dropping off and shutting down, fix and repair this app.

  • ★★★★Chicchic321

    Unusable with out subscription

After using the BBC app for over 15 years, it is now in-usable in the US. Everything, even push notifications about major world events are behind a paywall. This makes it unusable.

  • ★★★★★ads for articles

    pay per read

Let us watch (more) ads in exchange for articles. as oppose to full subscription

  • ★★★★Disillusioned Brit

    Profiteering

The institution that has traditionally put its values and service to its community ahead of profit has finally succumbed greed. No longer is there a source for impartial, quality news reporting. The BBC is no longer any better than its American capitalist, biased contemporaries. Step out of it BBC, rise above the rest again
