HOW IT WORKS Most aircraft today are equipped with ADS-B transponders that transmit positional data. Flightradar24 has a rapidly growing network of 50,000 ground stations to receive this data that then shows up as aircraft moving on a map in the app. In an expanding number of regions, with the help of multilateration (MLAT), we’re able to calculate the positions of aircraft that don’t have ADS-B transponders.   Auto zoom is annoying

  Great app, love the navigation and details. However the auto zoom is infuriating at times. When de-selecting a plane after looking at details the app decides to auto zoom waaaay out. Why???? Also, at random times the planes suddenly shrink to the point you cannot distinguish them because they are so small. I have to zoom in/out several times to get them back to the normal visible size.
