  We used Splitwise App for a girls trip in Vegas. The concept is great but had its limitations. The App didn’t always offset expenses paid by others. The app was delayed and a bit slow with the updated balances.

  Terrible, holds your money hostage

  Even with the pro version you can only transfer $800 dollars a week. Don’t waste your time with this app unless you don’t want your money for months. Should be criminal to hold your money like this.

  I love everything except for the ability to export the info into a spreadsheet. To me, that’s crucial. Am I missing it somewhere? I updated my review from 4 to 5 starts. The developers responded to my review which resolved the issue. Thank you Splitwise.

  Forever Debt System

  Rather than just paying your portion at the time of the expense you can incur debt from your friends. No worries though, you can just buy them their next 10 meals to pay them back.

  Really helps when you have a lot of group trips and have tons of expenses. Takes the guesswork work out! I am bummed that they limited the number of expenses that you could make per day, but it forces you to stay on top of the expenses.

  Splitwise turned full Mr. Krabs and ruined by greed

  With its aggressive paywalls and daily transaction limits, it just makes sense to look elsewhere for apps that do the same thing at a fraction of the cost and with less friction. I used Splitwise from its inception and was happy to pay for a subscription back then. But after taking a break for a few years and coming back, the app feels almost unusable. Everything is locked behind paywalls. Even the most basic, features like simply searching for your own transactions are now trapped behind a paywall.
