Used by Vinnie Colaiuta, Peter Erskine, Virgil Donati, Dennis Chambers & more. THE BASICS ▶ Accurate metronome covering all time signatures, with a mixer, subdivision faders, 100s of sound options, Big Numbers display, tap tempo, rep counter, timer, and more. ▶ 2 rhythm sequencers to program virtually any rhythm. ▶ Built-in tuner with calibration (e.g. A=442). ▶ Control PolyNome hands-free with Siri or remote Bluetooth/MIDI controllers. NOTE: Playlists, Practice Log, Track Markup, Konnakol and some other features require an In-App Purchase to use. For a one-time purchase of all current features, see PolyNome Pro on the App Store. LEARN & IMPROVE ▶ Figures out the correct strokes to play any rudiment — automatically. ▶ Includes the 40 Essential Rudiments as ready-to-use example playlists. ▶ Create 2 & 3-way polyrhythms. ▶ Random mute and custom gap clicks to sharpen your internal timing. ▶ Auto Counting adds voice counting to any rhythm to help you learn it. CREATE ▶ Build any rhythm in any time signature — including irrational ones like 4/5. ▶ Add accents, flams, drags, rolls, and ties to create full percussion pieces. ▶ Create melodies on a 6-octave keyboard with melodic scale overlays. ▶ Add voice counting or konnakol to your rhythms. ▶ Randomize and shift rhythms. Use variable swing to work on your feel. AUTOMATE PRACTICE ROUTINES ▶ Create tempo automations for warm-ups and cool-downs. ▶ Build custom Playlists combining presets, time signatures, tempos, repeats, and alternate endings. ▶ Use voice cues to prompt you through exercises automatically. GEAR UP FOR LIVE SHOWS ▶ Build tempo-accurate clicks and printable setlists from Spotify or Apple Music. ▶ See your setlist duration update as you add songs. ▶ Set up voice cues, tempo and time signature changes with ease. ▶ Tap To Start syncs your click to live music instantly. ▶ Haptic feedback for silent click situations. ▶ forScore integration to show your chart when you load a preset. GET INSPIRED ▶ The free Public Library has hundreds of user-curated presets — snare solos, rudiments, drum grooves, drum books, and more. ▶ The Practice Lab includes Live Q&As, tech support, and free rhythm courses. EXPORT & INTEGRATE ▶ Share presets with other PolyNome users. ▶ Export creations as audio files. ▶ Use as a virtual instrument in Inter-App Audio enabled software. Amazing

This app helps so much with figuring out tricky patterns & all my practice needs. The reason it gets a 4 star is because sadly, you cannot input nestled tuplets(such as 5:6 inside a ninelet).

    Notifications Ruin Otherwise Great App

Paying $10 for something typically means that they will leave you alone to enjoy using the app that you paid for. If the notifications, prompts, ads, and questions etc. continue I’ll probably be switching to an alternative that allows me to practice in peace. This would have been a five start review otherwise.

$10 app and then almost $40 a year

What a rip, I understand charging for all the extra stuff but come on I can’t even create my own tempo playlist without a subscription, just straight up sleazy behavior 😒

The only metronome you’ll ever need

I’m a music teacher and performer. I’ve downloaded most if not all the iOS metronomes to review for my students. This is the one I use for teaching, studying, and performing. It’s feature rich yet easy enough for a beginner. It handles all the subdivisions I need for teaching from a simple click to advanced nested tuplets. The track mark up is a very helpful feature for transcribing and learning songs. The playlist feature has so many uses. I make setlists for all my bands. I control them externally via MIDI. It’s also useful for studying and practicing longer music passages. I uploaded samples of my favorite metronome. I love it. My Dr, Beat and transcribing apps don’t. It’s so good that I paid for the premium service. The developer is amazing and always replies to any questions.

    Great tool for drummers

It's a great metronome and so much more! I use it to create drum charts quickly with the Track Markup feature. You can capture the number of bars and label each section of a song while listening to it from within the app. Saves a lot time when learning new songs. Also, great integrations with Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, ForScore and more.

    Paid app asking for subscription

Not a fan of apps I paid for asking me to give them more money as a subscription.

    I see the vision but…

I can appreciate the advanced controls but the UI feels a bit convoluted in my opinion. Additionally wasn’t a fan of the fact that the playlist and tempo changing feature was only accessible in the $32 premium package, *after* i already paid $10 for the basic app. That’s what I thought made this app special but constantly being asked to get premium doesn’t feel worth it I’m going to stick with ProMetronome and program my own tempo changing exercises in Ableton.

    Unbelievable! No brainer purchase

One of the things that met Apple successful as a company was that they figured out what the public wanted before the public even knew. PolyNome is an app that does just that. It does everything you could ever hope for and then six months or a year later as you have improved you’ll think of a feature that you need and you’ll discover that it’s already there. And that happens again and again and again and again and again. Brilliant work by an exceptional coder and exceptional professional drummer.
