I had a lost pet and it immediately was met with concern and suggestions and support. Besides that it’s just a positive thing for communication and interaction. I’m so glad I downloaded the Nextdoor app!!!!” - App review “Fantastic platform for meeting neighbors, finding out local news or finding recommendations for local businesses! The ability to interact with the neighbors and being involved in the community is priceless! Highly recommend!” - App review “I really enjoy using the Nextdoor app because it helps me stay in the know and know what’s going on in my area. Also it’s a great way to help others locally” - App review “Before Nextdoor, I didn’t know there were several qualified babysitters living nearby and looking for work. It was easy to feel comfortable hiring my neighbor’s daughter to watch my son after school.” - App review “This year for Spring Cleaning, we wanted to sell old appliances, tools, clothing and electronics on Nextdoor. In no time, our neighbors stopped by to make a deal and take things off our hands. It was easier than anything else, and it feels good knowing our old stuff has found a new home in the neighborhood.” - App review OUR MISSION To make every neighborhood feel like home. Our mission is to make every neighborhood feel like home. We do this by connecting neighbors to the local gems around them – people, places, and information. These local connections improve our lives by fostering a sense of community and belonging no matter where we live. YOUR PRIVACY Nextdoor is a trusted environment where neighbors are verified. Share online the kinds of things you’d share with your neighbors in person. We require: • Every neighbor’s address to place them in the right neighborhood • All members go by their real names, just like in person Continued use of Location Services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Nextdoor doesn't run Location Services in the background unless you give us permission by turning on optional features that require it. Blocked

I was blocked by Nextdoor Neighborhood app because of my opinion on politics. I didn’t direct my opinion to anyone in particular. I learned the hard way that is best to keep your opinions to yourself. How can I appeal? I can’t get on the app at all.

App has locked me out despite reinstalling it.

Update: I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it shows me as still banned and locked out of any settings. So I went to the website to see if I could change the email notification settings there and my account works fine on the website. The app shows me as banned even after reinstalling it. The app is broken for me. I was banned for pointing out that we shouldn’t allow criminal aliens to remain in our community and I was banned because the moderators in my neighborhood don’t understand how the law works. I was polite and respectful in sharing my opinion, the local moderators demand conformity instead of civility. This app is a tool for neighborhood Kommisars to be the dictators that their hateful hearts long to be.

    For Sale items

Please make it more obvious on how to post an item for sale. Neighbors are flooding the general feed with For Sale items. Reviewers are slow or won’t vote to remove. Add AI to move a post into the For Sale area when content says ‘for sale’ or ‘I’m selling’

    Overall positive

I appreciate the lost & found animal section. But people can be VERY harsh about their opinions on people rehoming their pets. Lighten up folks, people are doing the best they can. Many feel guilty enough without all your harsh judgements.

Search function is useless; needs “downvote” option like Reddit

I used to use Nextdoor a lot, but I’ve largely switched to Reddit (i.e., the sub-Reddit for my town) because of Nextdoor’s 3 big problems: (1) Nextdoor’s “search” function is useless. It lists search results based on “engagement”, not based on true relevance or a combination of relevance and recency, so it’s nearly impossible to find anything. (2) Nextdoor needs upvoting/downvoting like Reddit. Nextdoor’s emoji “reactions” suck compared to upvoting/downvoting because every emoji reaction (including a sad face) appears to convey support because Nextdoor lists just the total number of reactions and doesn’t separate them out based on support/opposition. Because Nextdoor is supposed to about local issues, support/opposition is more important than a number of total “reactions” that masquerades as total support. (3) Nextdoor has a culture of letting its moderators censor comments that aren’t consistent with the dominant political views of a given community (whether liberal or conservative). This stifles genuine conversation about important local issues.

    Worst app

It won’t let me see what’s going on in other communities just because there’s not 10 people in my area that don’t have next door
