    at least it’s not spotify…

I moved to Tidal 6+ months ago looking to avoid Spotify’s ecosystem. I cannot financially support Daniel Ek, plus it looked like Tidal pays artists more which was a major plus. Tidal, while good for audio quality and being intuitive enough, has major bug issues on both IOS and PC. My IOS app will randomly stop playback, will freeze when searching a song, will freeze when turning off shuffle, etc. My PC app will randomly stop playback, crash, and tab me out into it for no reason. I want to love Tidal, so so badly. But at this current moment I cannot recommend it with how buggy it is. The user experience is barely passable in its current state. As an aside; Tidal, let me re-organize my playlists in whatever way I want to. Forcing me to do it by “last updated” or “alphabetical” sucks. Just let me organize them how I want to. Please.

    Stop asking me

Every time I log in you asking for a review I’m sick of it.

    Constant buffering!

I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning and recently the quality has gone down hill. You can’t even enjoy a song because the app will randomly stop and buffer until you skip to the next song just to see the same thing. Sometimes it’ll randomly turn on the repeat function on it’s on. Tidal please get it together!

    Randomly deletes all your music

About once every year or two my entire music library downloaded to my iphone is deleted. Usually happens right as I’m traveling so it will drain my travel data plans or I lose my music during a 10-14hr flight. Then you need fast wifi, charging all night, and 1-2 nights to redownload everything. Their offline and downloading systems need some work because they fail when you really need them. Catalog is good and slightly more offerings than qobuzz for my preferences.

    Solid streaming app

I switched to tidal from Spotify because of ai music and the UI is so much better and more intuitive.

Sound Quality is amazing. Accessibility is not.

I’ve used Tidal for about a month. Likes : Sound quality is amazing. Goes so hard at the gym The are more lyrics here that Apple Music doesn’t show me. I will say I understand some of my favorite songs a little better. Dislikes : Not all songs have lyrics : Some songs from Rico Nasty’s LETHAL have no lyrics. Does not have a PlayStation App : I like to game and listen to music. Tidal does not have an app on gaming platforms. Not the same across all devices: When I open the music menu on my iPad from the control center, tidal opens the app separately on THAT device. It’s like each app is its own entity per device. Whereas on Apple Music I could continue playing and change songs without interrupting my queue. If I start a song on my phone, I can’t continue on my HomePod. I have to reconnect and start over. It’s not a seamless transition from my phone to my Apple devices on airplay. Tidal buffers a lot : I’ve changed the audio quality multiple times from lowest to highest. My music often pauses and I’m sitting in silence troubleshooting for some minutes. There’s no way to transfer playlists. I looked online for some help but all the services want you to pay them to do it. I just started adding manually + rebuilding. I enjoyed Tidal, and I was ready to full on drop Apple Music but these are the snags I ran into. One of my artists (Jay-Xtra) also is not on Tidal. So I will be switching back when my subscription is over to support him.

    Meh

Interface is kind of sloppy and the library is missing things. On Bluetooth, the sound quality of other similar apps is better.
